People always think that there is no use of rubbish. Quite wrong! Garbage is a misplaced resource! Treatment and disposal of waste has become a hot topic in the environmental protection field. Therefore, a number of companies which aim to deal with garbage have been set up.
In Chengdu, there is an environmental protection company, called the Green Earth. It was founded in 2008, and it is the first professional company engaged in urban residents' household trash classification recycling and resource utilization in China. Their goal is to guide more than ten million Chinese families in starting to learn garbage classification, establishing a low carbon life within ten years.
Green Earth initiated a garbage system which recognizes the waste source via a code and rewards the people in the community who recycle their waste properly with points. These points can later be redeemed into gifts.
Today, Green Earth in Chengdu works with more than 75,000 households and helps to further encourage people to participate in garbage classification operations every day.
The sustainable development of the earth is closely related to everyone living on the earth. We need to consider the problem about sustainable development in many ways, not only by garbage classification but also other aspects. Every one of us should start with the little things around us, and contribute to a sustainable development.
