Vipre aims to provide sustainable solutions if it comes to mobility, accessibility and collective transport. Vipre believes that there is always a better, smarter way. Jos Mens (Director) and Winston Sukawati (Mobility Manager) from Vipre drove us around in Rotterdam in two vehicles which are used for one of their very original mobility concepts: ‘ Vanpooling’. A ‘Vanpool’ is a group of maximum 9 people who commute daily from and to work in a Vipre vehicle by driving themselves. From a conceptual perspective, vanpool equals carpooling, but because of its size it comes with more advantages:
- Significant decrease of parking and fuel costs. From 9 cars to only one can result in a 60% cost saving per employee
- Increase in productivity: employees arrive fit and on time
- Decrease in travel time: Vanpool vehicles are allowed to use the bus lane so they can avoid traffic
- Team building: employees get to know each other better
Jos and Winston are very down to earth. They believe in their concept and are proud of it; without showing off. A big ‘ thank you’ to Jos and Winston for being our drivers, guides and inspirators on our first day.
