KNOT reinforces social business benefits with inter-relationships between designers, craftsmanship and enterprises. The fashion industry is increasing environmental measurements to generate poverty minimization and new strategies aim to downplay unsustainable practices that consumers have been enjoying since the industrial revolution. Natural resources scarcity is worsening global warming effects and fashion can help being sustainable, beautiful and desirable.
KNOT products are made of Golden Grass, which grows in the humid grasslands of the Cerrado. These grasslands are part of Brazil’s permanent preservation areas, because they maintain a healthy watershed and it’s home to a global biodiversity hotspot of endemic flora and fauna. Many villages work with Golden Grass handicrafts, however the traditional craftsmanship started within a community of slaves’ descendants in the early 1900’s. These inhabitants from the Afro-descendant community of Mumbuca have learned this technique from the Xerente indigenous.
Sustainability is the future of our society. Industries and companies. It’s a new direction of thoughts where new business respect environment and people. It is the Zeitgeist of Sustainability raising concerns about global warming and excessive consumption. Creative marketing strategies and design innovation are transforming poor societies into centers of artistic entrepreneurship. Sustainability is the reunion of marketing, people, product innovation and CSR to strive a positive change in the fashion scenario.
KNOT’s strategy and social efforts raise awareness, foster partnerships with artisans and stakeholders to achieve design innovation. KNOT’s design was inspired on the Bauhaus Ballet and c sketches.
